About

Hi, I’m Faye—an art therapy trainee, mindfulness teacher-in-training, and lifelong explorer of the human experience. With a background in fine arts and design, I’ve spent years teaching art in community schools while working as a designer and brand executive. In 2021, I co-founded Artbeat Academe to help people of all ages find inner freedom through art.

Through teaching, I’ve seen how children naturally use art as a way to express and process their emotions—a form of therapy in itself. But I’ve also watched this innate creativity fade as art becomes a secondary skill, something judged and perfected rather than felt and experienced. The way society—and even many art programs—push children to create like adults can strip art of its power as a tool for self-expression and emotional growth.

I believe art has the power to heal—not just individuals, but entire communities and societies. When we reconnect with ourselves through creativity, we also heal our relationships with others and the world.

I dream of a world where children’s unique creativity is nurtured, and where art and mindfulness are accessible to all—a space to lose themselves, find themselves, and simply be.

Hopefully, this space can become a pathway for that vision—where art is no longer just an extracurricular, but something children carry with them for a lifetime.

Waiting for the Waves
